Funeral Details: Private Family Arrangements

Robert “Bob”, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2023.  Predeceased by his wife Joan of 72 years.  He is survived by his sister, Marlene.  Bob was loved by his five children Jo-Anne (late Albert), Patricia (David), the late Robert (Shirley), Timothy (Kim), and Merribeth (Brian).  He was cherished “Papa” to his 13 grandchildren Ryan, Timothy, Jeffrey (Kim), Lauren (Tim), Robert (Sabrina), Rebecca (Chris), Connor, Chelsea (Donald), Brittany (Tyler), Jordan (Kassidy), Michael (Maria Su), Emily (Ryan), and Alison; as well as 11 great-grandchildren Halley, Sofia, Ellie, Peighton, Jack, Finley, Odin, Thompson, Graeme, Audrey, and Atlas.

Bob was adored by everyone, his humour, curiosity, and love of life will remain in our memories and hearts.  His family was always astounded by his wealth of knowledge and his ability to build or fix anything.  You could always count on Bob to finish the most challenging Sudoku/crossword, recommend a book, or give you the latest movie.  Bob loved to travel to the Caribbean with his family.  He had the amazing ability to wiggle his ears and he would challenge his grandchildren to figure how to do this.  He loved his animals and especially feeding the squirrels and chipmunks.

He spent his career life with Bell Canada where he devoted over 40 years in various positions including installing landlines, working on the DEW line, supporting their safety program, and in management.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Errinrung for their exceptional care and compassion.

A private Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.  Contributions in his memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.  Online memories and condolences may be shared at www.peacefultransition.ca

So many great memories from the years we were friends and neighbours in Horseshoe Highlands. There was never a favour too big to ask nor a problem too difficult to solve that Bob and Joan were not at the ready to help. Will always remember them.
