Robert Bruce Sinclair

December 10, 1932 - May 24, 2019

Funeral Details: Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 13 from 2:15 to 4:30 pm (Family Memories at 3:00) the Nottawasaga Inn, 6015 Highway 89, Alliston

Passed away peacefully at Matthews House Hospice on May 24, 2019, in his 87th year, following a brief and courageous battle with cancer.  Devoted and beloved husband of the late Myrna Sinclair (nee Brown). He will be forever missed by his brother Bruce, children Heather (Richard Wilson) and David, grandchildren (Lindsey, Julia, Stephanie, Matthew) and the extended “Brown Family”.

Bob loved life, had a gift for story-telling and an enthusiasm for cottaging, sports and road trips. He maintained a positive attitude and said he was thankful for the lifetime of wonderful memories he was taking with him.

Bob also leaves behind a cherished group of friends, some of whom were with him from the beginning and some that he was fortunate to discover along the way, but all were a valued and important part of his life.  He will be greatly missed by his companion of the last five years, Josee Macintyre.  Bob will always be in our hearts and memories.

Born in Toronto, Bob was a graduate of Oakwood Collegiate and Woodsworth College (UofT), and spent his career dedicated to Fiberglas Canada. Bob & Myrna lived in Sarnia, raised their children in Toronto, and enjoyed an active retirement in the community of Greenbriar, Alliston. Over his lifetime, Bob served in many volunteer capacities including coaching, Boys Scouts of Canada, Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO), and serving on various committees of the United Church of Canada.

A Celebration of Life will be held this summer at the Nottawasaga Inn.

If so desired, donations in memory of Bob towards a named tribute at Matthews House Hospice would be appreciated via matthewshousehospice.ca

Our family is so very sorry to hear of Bob’s death. He was a fine man, much loved by his friends and family. He will be missed by one and all. We enjoyed Bob and Myrna’s company on many occasions at their cottage, at home and abroad. Bob was a true gentleman and always could be counted on for help when needed. He surely loved his tennis and golf and was accomplished at both activities as well as many other sports. Even tho’ we didn’t see much of him in the last few years, we were always just a phone call away. He loved all the Brown family so very much and kept in touch with Myrna’s sisters and brothers. A close family to be sure. His children and grandchildren were the focal point of his life and he treated them so kindly. Just last year he took David’s kids to Disneyland in California. It really tired him out, but he enjoyed seeing them having such a wonderful time there. A really good Grandpa. We thank him for being such an important part of our lives.

Laurie and I were so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. We so enjoyed Bob and Myrna. We also enjoyed many years of renting their cottage. Our family created many wonderful memories there and so very grateful that they allowed us to enjoy it as much as they did. Will we also miss our wonderful conversations with Bob. Sending our thoughts and prayers to Heather and David.

So sorry to hear the sad news. Although I have lived in California for more than 50 years, I often think of our days at O.C.I. Such great memories!
    My condolences to Bob’s family.
