Robert Henry O’Hara

January 2, 1927 - January 22, 2026

Funeral Details: Cremation has taken place and a family interment will take place at a later date.

Born and raised in Toronto, Bob worked and was very successful in the advertising business. He and his wife Jean built a cottage in Shanty Bay alongside the original Warren (his parents and grandparents) summer homes. In the 1980’s after he retired, he converted the cottage into a house and moved to Shanty Bay where they enjoyed activities in and around Lake Simcoe.

He passed away peacefully in his own bed as he wished. Bob is survived by his sister Patricia, son Jim (Anne), daughter Libby and his grandchildren Connor (Ally) and Emily as well as nephews, nieces and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ontario SPCA  or  Alzheimer’s Society  would be appreciated.

We offer our sincere condolences to Jim and Annie and the entire O’Hara family. I am really glad I got to visit one last time before Christmas. Bob was very fortunate to have family who loved and cared for him in his own home – promises made, promises kept. Rest in peace Bob. Xoxo

Was lucky enough to spend time with your Dad this Fall. Between the silences there was the occasional carefully placed words lol. He was a proud Grampa and we all remember him at the boys hockey games. You two are amazing for supporting him and keeping him at home! Losing him will be life changing for all of you. I am wishing you all peace, comfort and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.

Bob was such a gentle soul- very positive and caring to everyone. His warmth and sweet smile will be missed, along with his interest in what all our family members were doing.
He so loved his family, dogs and the lake.
