It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robin Ted Ptasiuk on July 12, 2026, at the age of 72. Born in Toronto, Robin grew up in Weston, Ontario and made many of his memories there.
Robin lived life his own way, enjoying the things that mattered most to him. His presence, memories, and the many moments shared with family will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved him. A veteran and favourite taxi driver with Deluxe Taxi of BARRIE, for more than two decades, Robin will be missed by his fellow drivers, owners, staff, and regular customers alike. His many friends at the Local will miss his humour, wit, kindness, and love of all things sport.
Robin is lovingly remembered by his brother, Ron Ptasiuk and his wife Susan, and is deeply missed by his sister Teresa Salvatore and her husband Gabriel. His nieces and nephews Casey, Alexandra, Jay, Jennifer, and Jeff, will always treasure many happy times with Uncle Robin.
His kindness, selfless and generous spirit, were among the many qualities that defined him. Robin was predeceased by his parents, Paul, and Margret Ptasiuk. Robin will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by all those who knew him.
As per Robin’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and in lieu of memorial services, if desired, friends can make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Posted on: Tuesday, August 18, 2026I knew Robin for a dozen or so years and during our many conversations we discovered that we had our high school in common. Although I went to Weston 6 or 7 years earlier we knew many of the same people from Weston and area. One day when I showed Robin an obituary of a school mates mother we were amazed that Mrs. Szymanski was indeed Robin’s godmother. What a coincidence !! He had spent many years with that family as well. We had many conversations where we agreed and also disagreed over the years. All in all he was a good guy and did live life on his own terms. I will miss him and wanted to say my deepest condolences to his family…. R.I.P. Robin.
