It is with great love and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald Alan Pilkey on August 3, 2025, at his home in Midhurst, Ontario, surrounded by his family, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Born on September 17, 1951, in Markham, Ontario, Ron was a devoted husband to Andrea Pilkey, a proud father to Sarah Pilkey (Aaron), and a cherished grandfather to Harrison and Evelyn.
Ron was an avid bird hunter who found joy and peace in the outdoors. He was known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humour, bringing laughter to those around him even in life’s most challenging moments.
He is survived by his loving sister Brea Johnston (Robert), brother David Pilkey (Rita), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Alvin and Cynthia Pilkey and his brother Brian Pilkey.
Ron will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strength, and the warmth and joy he brought to every life he touched.
Details of a Celebration of Ron’s Life will be shared with family and friends at a later date.

There’s little question that Ron was one of a kind. Always with that twinkle im his eye and a comical comment at the ready.
I will forever treasure my memories of him when we were all just starting out in life. My favourite is when he lost our bet and had to let me drive his beloved Beetle! I can still picture the look on his face- priceless!
My heart breaks for you all.
With love, Jean

Posted on: Wednesday, August 27, 2025I cannot find the words to express my extreme sadness for Rons passing. He is with his parents and brother now. Ron always had a fun sense of humour. I remember the Pilkey get togethers in the summer and it was so wonderful to have such a fun and loving family. My prayers and thoughts go out to Andrea and Sarah and all of the Pilkeys. He will truly be missed.
