Funeral Details: Private family arrangements

Passed away peacefully at Sara Vista Nursing Home, Elmvale, on April 16, 2022, at the age of 69 years, with his family by his side.  Son of the late Douglas and Edna "Dorothy" Henry.  Beloved husband of Debbie (nee Hartley).  Loving father of Ben (Alicia), and Josh.  Dear grampa to Parker, Abigail, Jaxon and Hailey.  Caring brother of Merrylynn (the late Ken), Bob (Lisa), Leanna (Mario), Tim, Sue (Jim), Ross (Marie), Lissa (David), and the late Rick and John. He will also be lovingly remembered by his in-laws Cedric (Sharon), Christine (Cathy), Darlene (Joe), Shirley and Debbie and will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Bruce was a former resident of Hanna, Alberta, but was currently living in Phelpston, Ontario.  Those who were fortunate enough to know Bruce, will remember him as hardworking, funny, and someone who could always be counted on to lend a helping hand.  A car and motorcycle enthusiast his entire life, he loved jumping on his Harley and riding with the sun on his face and the wind at his back.  Interests included hunting, trapshooting, playing his guitar, shooting pool, spending time with his family and being outdoors.  A life-long fan of Marvel Comics and the Marvel Comic Universe, he was always a superhero to his family.  Bruce will be missed by all who knew him.

In keeping with Bruce's wishes, a private cremation has taken place, and private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.peacefultransition.ca.  If desired, donations may be made to Friends of Sara Vista.  Special thanks go out to the wonderful, caring staff of Sara Vista.

I’ve known Bruce for forty five years – just a great guy, wonderful sense of humor, a shirt off his back if you need it kind of man. He will be so missed. Deb, Josh, Ben – all my love and sympathy during this very difficult time. Deb, all of my family send their sympathy as well. They were all so sad to hear of Bruce’s passing.

The world has lost a good man: a man who adored his wife and sons, worked hard, had a smile and a kind word for everyone, a great sense of humour, and a joie de vivre that was as inspiring as it was endearing. He was one of a kind. Nothing we can say will lessen the grief or the sorrow; Deb, Ben and Josh, I pray for God’s comfort and grace to sustain you as you face the days, weeks and months ahead.
