January 12, 1960 - August 8, 2020

Funeral Details:

It is with a deep sadness that we announce Rose Marie Holmes left this world Saturday August 8th at 7:10pm. She drew her last peaceful breath at Matthews House in Alliston.

Loving daughter to June and Doug Melson, younger sister to Terri (Radley) and older sister to Ken Melson and Carla (Hounsome).

She is survived by her incredibly loving husband Jim & son Marc.

Rose was born, raised, and married in Barrie, Ontario. The definition of a ‘Barrie girl’ she also gave birth, raised a family, and lived out her years in her hometown.

She will be remembered by those who knew her well for her kindness, and thoughtfulness.

She had an eye for decor, a green thumb, and made THE BEST Rice Krispies treats.

She drove the speed limit, never broke a law, and paid all her taxes. An ideal citizen, amazing mother and loyal wife, she is dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

The family would like to thank Matthews House for making her last few days as comfortable as possible and encourage private donations to this amazing Hospice.

Even after a few days I still find it hard to find the words to express on how we feel.
Your loss has touched us all. Rose always brought a positive outlook on things and a smile no matter what was happening.
Rose’s one request of us was to be there for you. Well I think that you know the answer to that by all of the outpouring of love that you have received. We will be there, any time any place.
Once again Jim, our deepest and sincere condolences to you, Marc and to the so many that feel the loss with you.

Just learned of Rose’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with both of you and the rest of the family at this difficult time. Although we didn’t spend much time socializing with Rose, when we were in Home Depot we always loved seeing her and catching up with her.
