Bishop, Roy William:
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Roy William Bishop of Barrie in the wee hours of May 29, 2020 in the care of Woods Park Care Centre.
In his 85th year he his survived by his two daughters Sandra Bishop Howcroft (Dan) and Wendy Murdoch of Barrie. He had great love for his 9 grandchildren: Amanda, Jessica, Sherrie, Steven, Marc, Krista, Brian, Paul, Jeanette and his 15 great grandchildren: Riley, Keygan, Baily, Jaden, Kyra, Devon, Ava, William, Daniel, Trinity, Dexter, Forrest, Greyson, Jimmer, Nash. Predeceased by his loving wife Jean Eileen (Foster) Bishop, his son Thomas William Bishop and his son in law Jeff Murdoch all of Barrie.
Roy loved playing his guitar and singing country music. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, sports, especially hockey and baseball and a really good beer.
Special appreciation to Woods Park Care Centre who so deeply and passionately cared for Dad over these years. Your incredible staff made this LTC centre a home.
I don’t know what we would have done without family and friends. During this time, we would have loved to be surrounded by you all. Although at a distance, your hearts are always near.
Many of you will have stories to share for this quiet loveable man. You have been an outstanding father; one we were blessed to get to know better as the years went on. Thank you for teaching us the importance of humility and the power of unconditional love.
Arrangements entrusted to Peaceful Transition Barrie and we thank you for your assistance during this difficult time. Condolences may be made at www.peacefultransition.ca
We will always carry your memory in our hearts.

Posted on: Saturday, May 30, 2020Sandy:
It is impossible to find the right words at a moment like this. Especially for you as I understand the road you have travelled to be your father’s healthcare advocate, and most importantly his dedicated loving daughter. Now you are on another emotional journey and with that many sad and heart-breaking moments to go through. One precious moment at a time. Through it all, I hope the memories, the photos, the stories, the music and the taste of Coors Light will give you comfort knowing your Dad is with you. The sparkle in his eyes are now a part of yours, your children and your grandchildren. Thinking of you, Steve & Krista and all the rest of the family.
Sending Love & Hugs.
Musically yours Monique & Rick
