Keddy, Russel Curtis: Passed away peacefully on Monday, January 3rd, 2022 at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Russel managed his illness with strength and grace: always looking on the bright side and enjoying every moment he could with his family and friends. Russel Keddy was in his 75th year. He first called Nova Scotia home, and most recently Bradford. He was a man who took great joy in bringing people together: be it starting the Barrie Singles Club, a Tandem Bike Riders Club, or by bringing his favorite homemade baked beans to a potluck.
Loving father of Colin, Kimberly and Kellie, of whom both he and their mother Sally Leon, always held with great pride and joy. He will be sadly missed by his 6 grandchildren ~ Danni, Kyndahl, Sal, Chantle, Elizabeth and Dante as well as Kelly Wilson (mother to Danni), Jessica Puddifant (mother to Kyndahl), Salvatore Maltese (father to Sal and Chantle) and John Cascone (father to Elizabeth and Dante).
He will be fondly remembered by all of his siblings and his 7 nieces, nephews’, relatives and numerous friends. A Private Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date in Nova Scotia. Arrangements entrusted to Peaceful Transition York (2-15236 Yonge Street, Aurora, Ontario) and condolences may be forwarded through peacefultransition.ca

A fitting quote for our friend Russ who lived and loved life in this way. Stay in the light, rock on…

Posted on: Wednesday, January 12, 2022Rest In Peace Uncle Russ. I remember how excited I would be as a kid whenever Russ came home. He would tease me mercilessly and I loved every minute of it. Many years later he and I drove out to the valley together for some family occasion and he made a point of asking me about my life and getting to know me better as an adult. We had quite a heart to heart chat and that drive will be in my heart forever.
Love you Russ, you will be missed.
