Our thoughts are with you . Our fond memories of Selby will never be forgotten. We always appreciated the work he did for us on the 8th line preparing our virgin lot for our 1st house and yard for our Cumming Transport business. He even made a special trip over to where we were living at Greenock/Carpe Diem to see where we wanted a huge rock he had discovered. We decided to put it in front of the house site near the hydro pole. That rock was the centre of attraction for our two children, visitors and many others. Forever in our memory.
    Bob and Louise Cumming.

    My Memories
Ever since I was a little girl my grandfather taught me many life lessons. Such as: always
check the toilet for snakes, how to dodge a slap shot, and how to laugh so hard you cry.
Without these lessons I don’t know who I would be today. Selby Bowman was a devoted
grandfather to me. He always cared about me and never forgot to call for my birthday. We
would always laugh until we started to choke. His stories were always so interesting to hear
and learn about where he grew up. I will never forget his wicked sense of humor and his
snort to get me laughing. If we weren’t laughing we weren’t together. Even in his weaker
moments there was never a dry eye in sight. Grandpa loved to dance, and watched me
dance around the room. He always made sure that I was having fun no matter what his
condition was. To this day Grandpa never left the house without his hankies, and now I make
it my job to always have one in my pocket so his memory is never forgotten. The memories I
keep safe are in the palm of my hand and between my fingers, this is where he would
always connect with me. His grip was as strong as a 20 year old and I wasn’t able to let go,
but I didn’t want to. I would laugh and he would smile with a smirk on his face and then let go
once he did so. His last couple of days I knew he would be with me forever, he still squeezed
my hand, danced with me, and had his hankies next to him. Many people in his life might
have thought he was crazy, but Selby, was never stupid. I’m proud and thankful for the bond
to have with my grandfather. I love him to the moon and back, I’ll see you in Jackson
    gramps. -A.
