It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Sharon Rodrigues on October 7, 2023, at the age of 79 in the presence of her loving partner of 53 years, Lorie Acton. She is predeceased by her parents Joe and Norma Rodrigues. Sharon was the oldest of 7 children, and is survived by Gary (Elon), Doug (Lorraine), Linda, Mary Lou, Mavis, and Michael (Robb). Sharon will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and their children, and by her furry friends, Zeus, Murphy, and C.C.
Her life was filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments that she shared with her loved ones. Sharon had a zest for life and a passion for adventure. She enjoyed travelling, including visits to the Montreal Expo ball games, scenic journeys to Nova Scotia, and the tropical paradise of St. Kitts. Each of these travels was an opportunity for her to create cherished memories.
Animals held a special place in Sharon's heart, and her love for them knew no bounds. Her compassion and care extended to all creatures, big and small.
Music, nature, and family were the pillars of Sharon's life. She found solace in the melodies of her favorite tunes, tranquility in the embrace of nature, and endless happiness in the company of her family. Sharon also enjoyed her moments of relaxation in front of the television, where she found entertainment.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in Sharon’s memory may be made to Hospice Simcoe, Furry Friends Animal Shelter Inc., or to the Barrie OSPCA.

A feeling deep in your soul Says you were half, now you're whole No more hunger and thirst But first be a person who needs people”Song “People” by Barbara Streisand

Posted on: Monday, October 16, 2023Lorie, please accept our sincerest condolences on the passing of dear Sharon. We have known you both from your days on Wellington Street and we were always so appreciative of you both and all you did for us over the years. Sharon was a joy to be sure, and we always enjoyed talking ‘pets, taxes and life’ with you both. You are both in our thoughts and prayers.
Although age and infirmity overtake me, and I come not within sight of the castle of my dreams, teach me still to be thankful for life, and for time’s olden memories that are good and sweet; and may the evening’s twilight find me gentle still. – Max Ehrmann
