Shirley Lochmanetz

February 10 1926 - September 22 2023

Funeral Details: Private Family Service

It is with an extremely heavy heart the family announces the passing of Shirley Lochmanetz in her 98th year on September 22, 2023.   Predeceased by her husband William (Lucky) in 2015 and by her son Bill in 2017.  Much loved and adored mother to Lorraine (Heighington) and her beloved son-in-law Robert.  Very much loved grandmother to Robyn, Alanna (Mabel Ann), and Garrett (Monkey Face); and great-grandmother to Austin, and Leigha; and great-great grandmother to two little ones.  Never was there a stronger woman who fought so many battles, Cancer 5 times, and Parkinsons.  She never let it bring her down and always kept positive.  No one was loved and admired more.  Shirley was a favourite aunt to so many nieces and nephews.  She never said a bad word about anyone and saw the good in everybody.  The family would like to thank Amica Little Lake for the superior care she was given and the kindness they showed the family.  As per Shirley’s wishes there will be no service.

“Remember me with smiles and laughter for that is how I will remember you all.  If you remember me with tears, then don’t remember me at all.”

She was a very special lady. My dad’s baby sister and a favorite aunt to many. A strong wonderful woman. Caring and funny. Loved by all that knew her. She can now rest in peace with her husband, son and family.
