Terence George Anthony Newman

April 24, 1932 - October 8, 2021

Funeral Details:

Passed away peacefully, at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on October 8th, 2021 surrounded by his four children, at the age of 89 years.  He was survived by his four children Deborah Newman, Janice (John) White, Mark (Carmen) Newman, and Paul (Debi) Newman, his two step children , Michael Koski (children Jack, Joseph, and wife Johanna) and Miali Koski, (children Hadley and Connor) and nine grandchildren Robert, Jazmin, Alexander, Jacob, Nicholas, Zoey, Lucas, Bailey, Jake, and his cat Molly.

Terry had a storied career in the Tool and Die industry.  He left school when he was 14 and started his apprenticeship at Timken Bearing in England.  He came to Canada from Birmingham, England when he was 15 with his adoptive father Albert E. Newman and his mother Ellen (Nellie) in 1951.  Right until the end, he considered himself to be ‘relatively sane.’

He was married to Lillian Koski for 20 years, a love that spanned over 4 decades and are now reunited for eternity

Terry will be remembered for his humour, sharp wit, and his love of sweets!

A very special thank you to Dr. Follwell for his gentle care and compassion and to the nursing staff at RVRHC.

Following Terry 's wishes, cremation will take place.  There will be no visitation, but there will certainly be a gathering of family and friends in the very near future.

In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to donate in memory of Terry may do so with the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society (link below).   Dad loved his cat Molly and many of the creatures she chased in his backyard.
