With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas "Tom" Murray Taylor, cherished father to Jason (Alba), and Cameron (Jessica); brother to Rick (Audrey-predeceased), and Virginia (Lou); loving partner to Sandy Mitchell; doting grandfather to Jacob, Esmé, Sadee and Jolliffe, Colton and Brayden; and friend to many. Tom left us peacefully on December 6, 2023, at the age of 84.
Born in Toronto on July 7, 1939, Tom's journey through life was marked by a vibrant spirit and a warm, engaging personality that drew people to him. His passion for the great outdoors was a constant throughout his life. Tom's love for skiing knew no bounds, and in the summer he could be found boating in “Tom Foolery”on Ontario’s Trent Severn waterway - a source of endless joy and relaxation.
Tom's skill in navigating both calm and turbulent waters was a reflection of how he approached life - with steadiness, courage, and an ever-present sense of adventure. However, the moments he cherished most were those spent with his loved ones.
Tom's passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his loving partner, children, grandchildren, siblings, and an extensive circle of friends and relatives. His legacy of warmth, passion for life, and the happiness he brought to every occasion will continue to resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Celebration of Tom's Life will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 2 pm (visitation at 1pm) at Midhurst United Church (91 Doran Rd, Midhurst, ON), where family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honour a life that was truly well-lived. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Canada (http://donate.parkinson.ca/goto/TomFoolery), in Tom's memory.

Posted on: Monday, December 18, 2023To Sandy and Rick … Dennis and I are so very sorry for this great loss. Tom was always a cheerful guy to run into! I thought I’d be able to come by for visitation today. However I am feeling either allergies, or I’m getting another cold! Dennis is running around doing no-heat service calls today. Know that you are both in our thoughts and prayers.
