Tobias “Toby” Johannes Vollebregt

June 28th, 1934 - June 2nd, 2022

Funeral Details:

As a family, we are very sad to share the news of the passing of Tobias (Toby) Johannes Vollebregt.

Born June 28th, 1934, in The Hague, Netherlands to Piet and Antoinette.

Married for 65 years, to the love of his life, Elisabeth (Bep) van Herk.

Loving father to Suzanne (Dan) Lacombe, Gabrielle (Otto) Koopmans, Michele (Gary) Hurd, Odette (Bob) Folz and Nicole (Tom) Ramsden.

Opa to 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and uncle of many nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland.

Loving older brother to Nico (Jeannine) Vollebregt and brother to late siblings Annie van Osch, Trees van Bentem, Henk Vollebregt, Antoinette Borsten.

If you knew Toby, you loved him. His friendly smile and bright blue eyes lit up any room he was in. He was a hardworking, caring gentleman, who dedicated his entire life to his family, his work and his volunteer projects and was always ready to help anyone who needed him.   He spent more than 30 years in leadership roles for the Hussmann Corporation in the US and Canada, he was an integral member of the Barrie Figure Skating Club as well as the lead fundraising chair for building of Holy Spirit Parish in South Barrie.

He loved to travel all over the world, attend soccer matches, and ski with his girls in Mount St. Anne. Later in life, he found so much joy spending time with his entire family in our little piece of heaven in Carillon Beach where so many special memories were made.

The family wants to thank Pat and everyone at the LHIN, Dana and others from the VON, and all the wonderful and caring staff of Millcreek Care Centre, who did everything to make him feel at home and gave him the patience, love and dignity that he deserved so much.

A mass to celebrate Toby’s life will be on Monday, June 13th at 10:30 at Holy Spirit Parish in Barrie.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local Alzheimer’s Society. Words of condolences may be left at www.peacefultransition.ca

    Lieve ome Tob,
I am so happy that I was able to spend many special moments with you. The travels to Ottawa, Florida, Waldorf Astoria in New York and many more. You were always so caring and worried that everyone would be ok. You can be so proud of all the things you have accomplished in this lifetime and most of all having a wonderful family. I am honored to have known you and spend time together. You can now rest, no more worries and celebrate the beautiful things that heaven has to offer. Say hi to my mom and all the others that have climbed the ladder to heaven already!
    Love always, Liesbeth ❤️🦋
