Funeral Details:

BARR, TRIXIE

Georgina Beatrix (Trixie) Barr passed away suddenly at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, Bracebridge on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa on July 8, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Doris Potter. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Loftus Troughton and her sister Elizabeth (Franz). She is survived by her second husband Russell Barr, her daughters Jane (Gregory) and Katie (Kevin), her grandchildren Caitlin & Peter Courtney and Emily & Abby Scott, her step children Darrell and Cynthia (Gareth) and their children Dante & Maria Barr and Kai & Kenton Turner.

An X-ray Technologist, Trixie loved working in mammography where her constant chatter relaxed her patients. She was a talented lady in many endeavours; seamstress, quilter, yoga, dinner hostess, indigenous gardener, camper, best gran, second mother to many, avid reader, lover of dachsies, and last but not least bridge player. Her kind and caring manner will be missed by her family and many friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Hahne Hall, 16 Hedgewood Lane, in PineRidge, Gravenhurst on Wednesday August 10, 2016, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Southlake Regional Health Centre Diagnostic Imaging (Mammography), or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated.

It was with a heavy heart that I read of Trixie’s death. My family and “the Potters” were good friends:and Trixie knew my mother as “Auntie Eira”.I remember a lovely, joyous young woman:and my sister Ann recalls attending her first wedding and later visits to Nescliffe.
It was so good to learn that Trixie found a good, full, loving life after such early tragedy.

May your God go with all and bring you peace in this time of sadness

    Sincerely,

    George Jones-Morris.

On behalf of the Pinetree Quilters’ Guild of Muskoka, I would like to express our heartfelt condolences. Since we do not meet in the summer months, we were taken by surprise upon learning that Trixie had passed away in August.
She was a lively, joyous and exuberant member of the guild. She had a great way with words and people and so will be missed. I will pass along the information to the other members in our October newsletter and at our upcoming meeting.
