Vanda Maria Olcsvary

Funeral Details: A celebration of life will be held at Burton Avenue United Church in Barrie, December 8, 2019 at 2.pm. 

Vanda Olcsvary of Barrie, passed away peacefully Saturday morning November 23, 2019 at the Bob Rumball home in Barrie, she was 87 years of age.

 

Vanda was born November 7, 1932, in Rome Italy.  She was the youngest of 3 siblings, the eldest her brother Livio and her sister Vera.  She came to Canada in 1959 and after meeting her husband Sandor Olcsvary, they created a life together in Toronto raising two girls, Vera and Monica.  Vanda and Sandor moved to Barrie in 2001, enjoying their retirement together spending time with their grandchildren.

 

Sandor, her loving husband mourns her loss and takes comfort in knowing she is at peace.  Brother Livio and family, and relatives in Italy, also mourn her loss.

 

Her grandchildren, Mark (& Gillian), Laura, Michael (& Alyssa) and Robert, will dearly miss their Nonna.

 

Vera and husband David Pipher, and Monica and husband Steve Tarasco, will miss the love and light she brought into their lives.

 

A celebration of life will be held at Burton Avenue United Church in Barrie, December 8, 2019 at 2.pm.  Visitors are welcome to arrive at 1:30 p.m. to greet family members.  Following the service, please join us for light refreshments.

The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at The Bob Rumball home in Barrie for the compassion and exceptional care they provided to Vanda.

    and to David, Mark and Laura,
    Please accept our deepest heartfelt condolences. Whenever we saw your Mom it was during the celebrations in life. At weddings, Thanksgiving, Christmas and christenings. It was so precious and a pleasure to spend these times with her and to know her. This is how we will remember your Mom. Smiling.
