Violet “Vi” Isadora Waite (nee Tupper)

Passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026 at the age of 95 years.

Beloved wife of the late Leaman.  Loving mother of Stephen, and the late Gary, and Debbie. Cherished grandmother of 13, and great-grandmother of 20.  Dear sister of Lois, Carol, and the late Hazel, Greta, Myrtle, Pearl, and Weldon; and survived by her sister-in-law, Wanda.  She will also be lovingly remembered by Judy.

Vi was known for her warm spirit, hardworking nature, and wonderful sense of humour.  She loved to dance, and if music was playing, you could always count on finding her on the dance floor.  She spent many years working as a waitress at Fran's Restaurant on College Street in Toronto before later working at the Holiday Inn restaurant in Barrie.  She truly loved being a waitress and took great pride in making others feel welcome through her exceptional service.

Vi also loved the sunshine and would happily spend all day basking in its warmth.  She enjoyed a good laugh, loved to joke around, and never passed up an opportunity to join a party and celebrate with family and friends.  A devoted dog lover, she cherished time with her family and was known for always having candy or a chocolate cream pie ready for her grandchildren.

An inurnment will take place at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, 3294 St. Paul’s Cres, Barrie (near the corner of Mapleview Dr. E. and Yonge St.) on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 12:30 p.m.  A Celebration of Life will follow.  Details of the location will be shared once confirmed.  Please check back on the Peaceful Transition website for updated information.
