Funeral Details: Private Family Arrangements

Wilhelmine "Helmi" Kelling passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, with her beloved husband, Klaus Kelling, by her side.

Born in Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Germany, Helmi later made Canada her home.  Family was at the heart of her life, and the kitchen was the heart of her home.  There was always coffee on and cake to share as family and friends gathered around her table.  She loved preparing home-cooked meals from scratch and baking traditional German favourites, especially Obstboden, cheesecake, yeast cakes and her coveted Frankfurter Kranz.  She also found joy in tending her garden, going for walks, and observing nature’s beautiful wildlife.

Helmi shared a lifelong love with her husband, Klaus, and together they built a life rooted in family and tradition.  She will be deeply missed by her family, Klaus Kelling, her daughters, Marion Landry and Susanne Bertolas, and her cherished grandchildren, Brandon, Jesse, Aidan, and Lexi.

In keeping with the families wishes, there will be no funeral service.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) for their compassionate care throughout Helmi's cancer journey, and to the physicians, nurses, volunteers, and staff at Hospice Simcoe for the kindness, comfort, and dignity they provided during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helmi’s memory may be made to Hospice Simcoe.
