William “Bill” Alexander Shaw

February 13, 1944 - November 3, 2021

Funeral Details:

SHAW, William "Bill" Alexander

Passed away peacefully on November 3, 2021 at IOOF Seniors Home in Barrie, at the age of 77 years.  Predeceased by parents Mervin and Evelyn Shaw.  Husband of 57 years to Judy (Irvin).  Dad to Kent and Carrie (Mew).  Pa to Benjamin and Alexander.  Brother of Jane Carol (Gowing) of Elora.  Bill was raised on a Dairy farm in Arthur Township, but lived in Waterloo as a welder for 40 years.  Moved to Barrie in 2006 to spend time with his beloved grandsons.

Bill’s family lost him several years ago to Alzheimer’s disease.  While his children have loving memories of their dad, sadly his grandsons did not have enough time with their Pa to make their own memories.  The family would like to thank the amazing staff at IOOF for their love and care of Bill over the last 4 years.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the IOOF would be greatly appreciated. https://www.ioof.com.  Online memories and condolences can be shared at https://www.peacefultransition.ca.

We loved your dear husband Bill, your Dad and Grandfather. May God bless and keep you as our dear friend rests in peace. With our heartfelt sorrow and sure thanks for his life and friendship all these years to us, to my parents and also my Aunt. So happy for the visit a few years ago at the home and that he remembered us then. It makes us smile as we remember how he always enjoyed fish & chips and tomato juice when we went for lunch together. We have one of his beautiful carvings on our cabinet & will always remember him in our hearts and are so thankful for Bill being a precious piece in our lives.
