William (Bill) Harold Zariwny, age 80, died at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie Ontario Thursday May 7, 2024 of cancer.
Born September 14, 1944 to Gregor and Anna in Scarborough ON. Bill worked his way up to Management positions in manufacturing working for Lasco Steel and Hayes Dana. In his spare time, Bill could be counted on to help fix electrical, plumbing, cars and fences – you name it, Bill would have an idea of how to fix it. This came in handy for friends and family and a necessity when raising 4 expensive boys. As members of the Ski Club, they spent many weekends on the local hills with friends and kids. He also spent time in many hockey arenas, ball diamonds, soccer fields and scouting trips volunteering, playing and cheering on the teams.
Loving husband of Lynda his wife of 56 years. He was her dedicated companion and advocate as she faced Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Father to Christopher (Molly) of Barrie Ontario, Richard (Theresa) of Barrie Ontario, Jason (Lesley) of Red Deer Alberta. He was pre-deceased by his parents, sisters Mary and Sylvia and son David. Bill was very proud of his 10 grandchildren; Aneleis, Matthew, Noah, Hailey, Zachary, Nathan, Sarah, Natalie, Samantha, and Keira with whom he shared stories and life lessons.
Bill did not want a fuss and his family is respecting his wishes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome at Royal Victoria Regional Health Center 201 Georgian Drive, Barrie Ontario, L4M 6M2, 705 728 9802 or the Canadian Cancer Society.
