Funeral Details: Private family arrangements

With broken hearts the family of William Norman Thompson “Bill” announce his passing on January 7th, 2026 at the age of 71.  He was the son of the late Anne and Norman Thompson and was the loving husband of the late Wendy Anne Thompson (nee MacKnight).

He will live on in the hearts of his children: Cale Thompson (Jason), and Katie Thompson.

Bill was an alumnus of the University of Waterloo, graduating with honours in Structural and Civil Engineering.  In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring tractors, particularly Massey Harris models.  He also had a deep love for his Newfoundland dogs, who brought him great joy.  Like clockwork, Bill regularly spent coffee time with the guys every Saturday and Sunday, a routine he truly enjoyed.

At Bill's request there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place and in late Spring there will be a committal service held at St. James Cemetery, Crown Hill.  Details to be shared through family.

The family wishes to thank the Doctors and Nurses at RVH for their compassionate care.
